Samsung Galaxy Note Review

Samsung Galaxy NoteThe Android Smartphones are really crazy! When we are still waiting for the “biggest” 4.7-inch HTC Titan, Samsung leads up and released the real biggest Smartphone – Galaxy Note. This beast of phone actually carries a 5.3-inch display. So it is the biggest for a device under the name “phone”. To be more specific, you can consider it as a huge Smartphone or a mini tablet.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is made of plastics, but it doesn't feel cheap at all. The device is solid, and even the capacitive stylus stays very firmly in its spot, and requires a bit of force to be removed.

The giant 5.3-inch screen could only be held in giant hands. Of course it carries Samsung’s own Super AMOLED technology which translates into rich colors, deep contrast levels, and wide view angles. We are happy to say that everything on the screen is very clear and easily readable for Galaxy Note has a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and 285ppi.

To ensure a fast and fluent operating speed, Galaxy Note is equipped with 1.4 GHz dual-core processor, 1G of RAM and 4G HSPA+ network. It has two cameras. The primary 8M camera has auto focus, LED flash and 1080p video recording capacity. The front-facing 2M camera makes it easier for both video calling and uploading photos for micro blogs.

The Samsung Galaxy Note runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which is of course disguised with the custom TouchWiz user interface. It is nice that TouchWiz has been tweaked for the Note in a number of ways, so that it better fits the 5.3” realities. For example, the icon grid now allows for five, instead of four icons on a row.

Believe it or not, the Samsung Galaxy Note is also meant to be used as a phone. With such a huge display, it's natural for us to be a bit worried about the battery life of the Samsung Galaxy Note. Thankfully though, you can feel free to watch movies, PowerPoint on Galaxy Note via Moyea PPT to Video converter and play games for the manufacturer has managed to fit a pretty decent 2500mAh battery inside, which should be able to provide 13 hours of talk-time and about 24 days of stand-by.
